Emergency Medicine Physician of the Year
Recognizes and honors an emergency medicine physician who has made significant contributions to the advancement of emergency medicine in Massachusetts.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to the improvement of quality patient care.

• Advancement of emergency medicine in Massachusetts through clinical, research, educational, and/or administrative activities.

• The Individual's achievements have enhanced the state's health care system.

• The individual has advanced the profession of emergency medicine in Massachusetts.

  

Emergency Medicine Resident or Fellow of the Year

Recognizes and honors an outstanding emergency medicine resident or emergency medicine fellow in Massachusetts whose combination of clinical promise, leadership, ability to think outside the box and commitment to their patients and emergency medicine separate them from the majority.

Eligibility Criteria:
Emergency Medicine Residents & Emergency Medicine Fellows in Massachusetts are eligible to be nominated for this award.  The nominee must stand out among his or her peers in the following categories during his/her years as a resident:

• Commitment to emergency medicine

• Compassion and commitment to patient care

• Recognized as a strong leader

• Commitment to the emergency medicine community

• Commitment to the education and enrichment of self and others, including but not limited to continuing education, teaching, research, and publication

• Does this individual exceed what is expected of a resident and stand above his/her peers.
   

Medical Student of the Year

Recognizes and honors an outstanding medical student with an interest in Emergency Medicine. The award is intended to recognize students who excel in the compassionate care of patients, professional behavior, and service to the community and/or specialty.

Eligibility Criteria:

Medical Students in Massachusetts are eligible to be nominated for this award.  The nominee must have gone above and beyond the expectations placed upon a medical student.

• Significantly impacted on the wellbeing of the wider community

• Recognized as a strong leader

• Inspired others through their outstanding dedication and innovation

• Humanism, professionalism, and clinical judgment as attested to by the nominating individual

• Scholarly achievement
